Vedla (“Vedla”, “we”, “us”) is an independent creative studio based in Ottawa, Canada. This policy explains how we handle information in the apps we publish (including on the Apple App Store) and on this website, vedla.ca. Together we call these our “services”.

We only collect what we need to make our services work:

• Account information. Some of our apps let you sign in. When you create an account, we store the details needed to provide it, such as your email address, a display name, and your app settings.
• Content you create. If an app lets you save projects, notes, or other content to your account, we store that content so you can access it. It is private to your account and is not shown to other users.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your email address and the contents of your message so we can reply.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers, and we do not build profiles about you.

Our keyboard apps work entirely on your device. They do not request “Full Access”, and they do not record, store, or transmit anything you type. Your keystrokes never leave your device, and we never see them.

Our apps do not contain analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

This website uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host ourselves. It does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. It records anonymous, aggregated data, such as which pages are visited, the referring website, and the browser, device type, and country, so we can understand how the site is used. This data is not shared with anyone else.

Apple may share anonymous, aggregated statistics with us (such as download counts or crash reports) if you have chosen to share them with app developers in your device settings. You can change this at any time in your device’s privacy settings.

Like most websites, the servers that host vedla.ca may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. This website does not use cookies for tracking. It only stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser.

We use the information we collect only to:

• provide, maintain, and improve our services;
• keep your account secure and sync your content between your devices;
• respond to your messages and support requests;
• comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except when we are required to by law, or when it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vedla, our users, or the public.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to collect as little as possible in the first place.

We keep account information and content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, unless we need to keep something to meet a legal obligation.

You can:

• access, correct, or export the information associated with your account;
• delete your account and its data at any time, from within the app or by emailing us;
• withdraw your consent and stop using our services at any time.

To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, under Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU/UK GDPR), and we will honour them.

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we handle your information, we will let you know through the app or by email before it takes effect.
